Google Chrome has slightly beaten Internet Explorer in the race to become world’s most popular browser last weekend.  According to StatCounter, this incident occurred when on March 18 Google Chrome took the lead, when office users logged on to their personal computers instead of their companies’ provided workstations. It is a good sign for Chrome as people at liberty to choose, giving preference to Chrome over Internet Explorer. According to Statcounter data, Chrome was used for 32.7 percent of browsing, while Internet Explorer had 32.5 percent share on March 18. However, on March 19 once again IE’s share reached to 35 percent and chrome slipped back to 30 percent.
Chrome already has pushed back Firefox into third position in December and since then is holding the second spot. But analysts doubt Google’s capacity to surpass IE’s first position due to Microsoft’s majority in incorporate desktops.
