“The Social Network”, the movie based upon the social media network Facebook has not faired as well as it was expected from it to occur and happen at the Oscars. Its rival movies as The King’s Speech and Inception at the 83rd Academy Awards bagged more and the mixed one as comparison to the Social Network. Fincher’s movie, that is a fictional narration of the growth of the Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, reserved about Oscars in the ceremony. Writer Aaron Sorkin, who is also popular for the West Wing and A Few Good Men, won the Best Adapted Screenplay. It even booked a prize for Best Film Editing.

The movie instead was booked under the total eight awards and seemed to be the most favorite till the last moment. The movie failed to register award for the categories like Best Actor, Best Director or Best Picture. The King’s Speech won five Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor for Colin Firth. Chris Nolan’s dream-within-a-dream Inception also won five, including Best Special Effects for its mesmerizing computer-generated imagery.
